WEEKLY COMMENTARY....

YOKOZUNA

Hey gang, Ref Hanson here.  I hate to open up my weekly commentary with yet another pro wrestling loss.  Earlier this week Rodney Anoia, better known as "Yokozuna," passed away at the age of 34.  He was best known for being  a two-time WWF World Champion.  He beat Bret "Hitman" Hart and Hulk Hogan respectively to win his titles.  There are not many people in the wrestling world that can say they beat these two icons.  Yokozuna took time off from the WWF in late 1994 and reemerged at Wrestlemania 11 to win the WWF tag team titles with the late Owen Hart by defeating the Smoking Gunns, whom they would ultimately lose those titles to.  Yokozuna's legendary feuds with Lex Luger, Vader, and The Undertaker will never be forgotten by his fans and will go down in history as great feuds.  Yokozuna wrestled his last WWF match on television at the 1996 Survivor Series where he competed in an eight man elimination match. We will all miss Yokozuna, but we should all feel honored and privileged that we got to meet and see such a great human being.  A big thanks to JAPW for honoring Yokozuna prior to their event last Friday night, that exuded tremendous class, I felt honored to be a part of it.  Well done, Frank.  I personally would like to send my condolences to Rodney's family and friends, because as much as we'll miss him, they will miss him most of all.  Good-bye, Yokozuna, I hope we will get to see you again one day.  Godspeed.

SUBWAY SERIES

For those of you who don't know, you should get the tar beaten out of you.  Both major league baseball teams from New York, The Mets and........I forget, competed in this years World Series.  I, a die-hard, life-long Mets fan, am absolutely thrilled that my favorite team captured this years World Series title.  I would like to apologize to all of the......other teams fans, better luck next year.

THE HAAS BROTHERS

For those of you who don't know, Charlie and Russ Haas were signed to the WWF earlier this week.  A huge congratulations go out to both of them.  I earned the privilege of reffing one of their matches against the Callahan Brothers at a JAPW Student show.  They were victorious in that encounter.  I also got to learn a lot from them at the JAP school, and lost a lot of hair every time Russ tugged on it while reffing matches with students.  Russ...punk you just wait till I get to the WWF.  I'm gonna....probably do nothing, but you just watch yourself, fool!  Uuuhhhh.......you guys are kinda bigger than me...I'm sorry.  I didn't mean it.  But no, in all seriousness, congratulations and much success to you guys up at Titan.
